come fly with me

Sometimes all it takes to amp up your spirits is to do something drastically impulsive. That is exactly what I did yesterday, Fiji here I come! My mind is concocting dreams of scuba diving and horse riding and cocktails on the sand....bliss! November cannot come quickly enough!

rainbow denim

I've never felt like I was able to pull off coloured jeans. I know they've been a trend for a little while now, and not just jeans but denim in general, though I was never particularly interested. Not because I didn't think it was seriously awesome (anyone who can wear grass green jeans is pretty cool in my book) but I could never justifying buying something that I didn't think would be that versatile. Until now.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let the hopeless wanting begin. Well, not hopeless, because I will be getting these. Immediately. Bardot, you've got me again. No surprises as to what colour I fell for, hmm? Even though the green and dusty pink almost have me hooked too.

What do you guys think? Are you into this trend at all or am I a lone wander on this one? Anyone have any of their own favourite pieces from other labels? I have my eye on some high waisted Khaki green skinnys from Sportsgirl at present too, though I feel this pair may have taken top spot on my priority list. Well...after the Minkpink collection of course!

romance and rebellion - minkpink 2011

'They walk by, all tousle-haired and devil may care. Just a couple of rock'n'roll vagabonds, forever young, free and wild at heart.'

It is not often that you find a collection that completely fits your personality almost one hundred percent. I thought it fitting as this blog is so new, to give you guys a look into my own style. When I receive my camera back from family I shall take a few outfit shots but until then, this shall have to suffice. I am actually surprised my body is still functioning at the moment, after dance training today that so intense it almost killed me. I am so physically exhausted I can't even keep my legs upright! But I wanted to post every day this week, so that is what I am going to do.

There is nothing I don't completely adore in this collection, by MinkPink.  I love everything about it, the oversized knit, the cropped yellow printed top, the woven hair band and retro red nails. There is nothing in this entire collection I wouldn't wear. It is simply me. It has inspiration from the 70's hippie child and the rock'n'roll cool of vintage prints, and everything that I try to inspire in my own style. I might pair the cropped top with a cream, semi sheer maxi skirt, some heavy bangles in vintage prints and that woven hair band or long peace signed necklace, with maybe a black leather vest left open and some high heeled clogs. Heaven.

Watch out. Next time you see me, I may own the majority of this collection. If I needed to, I would wear nothing but this collection for the rest of my existence.

beauty gems of july

I am an impulse buyer. There, I said it. Now it's out there on the internet for all to see my shame. If there were an anonymous group that met every Thursday night, I would be there, trust me. I have a problem. They taunt me, sitting there all pretty on their shelf whispering 'Hi Jazzy. I smell nice and I promise to make you feel good. Take me home with you?'

The one good thing that comes out of my compulsion to buy is that I find many things that I cannot live without. These are my July picks, and boy, we've got some doozies here people!

1. Lush Soap in 'Godmother' - One whiff of this and you are in instant girly soapy heaven, trust me. It smells like red jelly frogs and bubblegum and happiness...

2. Lush Bath Melt in 'Happy Blooming' - This comes in three breakable chunks, whack a piece in your bath and watch it turn your water bright pink and moisturise you all over! I can still smell this cherry scented angel on my skin the day after!

3. Garnier Fructis Instant Melt-in Mask in 'Silky Waves' - This is a lifesaver for unruly, out of control, long curls like mine. I put this lightly through my hair after my shower and before bed, then tie my hair up in a loose bun. When I wake, automatic beach waves with no effort at all. If curly ain't your thing, don't stress! They have one to fit any hair type.

4. M.A.C Powder Blush in 'Springsheen' - My go-to everyday blush for a natural and peachy look that goes with almost anything. A must have.

5. Clinique Take the day off Makeup Remover - This is meant for lids, lashes and lips, and is so gentle and soothing that I couldn't imagine using anything else.

6, 7, 8. Essie Nail Polish in 'Pop Art Pink', 'Turquoise and Caicos' and 'Geranium'. - When I am in the mood for sweet yet sexy, chic yet subtle, I reach for Essie. These are my current three faves!

9, 10. Revlon Grow Lucious Mascara and Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara - I am a great believer in mixing mascaras, and I have finally found a pair that work wondrously together. Use Max factor first, for amazing length, then Revlon for volume. Sheer magic.

11. Dior Miss Dior L'eau Perfume - I am head over heels for this fragrance. It is the perfect blend of sweet with a light citrus freshness that is a little out of the ordinary yet still irresistible.

12. Lush Fresh Face Mask in 'Oatifix' - If you haven't already tried a face mask from Lush, shame on you. Oatifix is my ultimate go to mask for my horribly dry skin, it leaves me so silky smooth and smells of banana and oatmeal. If you have oily or breakout prone skin, 'Cupcake' is also sinfully good.

13. L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Mist - If you are fair skinned like me and are scared of joining the race of oompa loompas, try this self tanner. It is gradual and subtle though build able, forming into a nice rich tan.

14. Clinique Moisture Surge Thirst Relief Moisturiser - My. Lifesaver. As in, I have a shrine dedicated to this that I worship in a morning salute. If I did not own this product, I would shrivel away into a depressed, dry-skinned no one and never leave my house again. Seriously. This is a god send. For those with remotely dry skin, or even those who find their skin tight in winter, buy this. You need it.

15. M.A.C Lipstick in 'Shy Girl' - The perfect peachy pink nude lipstick for a natural, everyday look or if you are playing up the eyes and just want a little something on the lips.

16. The Body Shop Body Butter in 'Japanese Cherry Blossom' - So so so so yummy. You don't even know until you've smelt this. It may be my addiction to anything cherry blossom related but truly lovely.

Anything on this list that you have already fallen in love with? Any recommendations? I plan on doing one every second month, so let me know if there is anything that I simply have to try!

crushing on coral

1. M.a.c eye shadow in 'Paradisco'. - $14.50 US
2. M.a.c lipstick in 'Ever Hip'. - $14.50 US
3. Essie nail polish in 'Tart Deco'. - $8 US
4. Topshop coral sleeveless ruched dress - $95 US
5. Miss Selfridge petites coral textured skirt - £22
6. Dorothy Perkins coral cork platform shoes - £25
7. H&M coral bikini - Top £6.49 Bottoms £4.99
8. Miss Selfridge coral suedette shorts - £22

For as long as I can remember, i've loved this damn colour. It's like some feral, coral coloured animal takes over my body whenever I spot anything in this shade, screaming 'BUY IT. BUY IT NOW.' There's something about it's ability to translate into every single season, from the light and flouncy Spring to the cosy, picturesque Autumn, it works with everything. For me, it gives an outfit that girly edge without slapping on a typical pink or pastel. It would not be a stretch to say that about a good third of my wardrobe is coral, I just can't resist.

My favourite way to indulge in this happy little colour would be my Tart Deco nail polish paired with my Ever Hip lipstick, a perfect duo for the sunday spring picnic!

What is your favourite way to wear this magnificent colour?

jumpsuits and lace

My little hippie heartstrings were all a flutter when I spied the new collection from Sportsgirl in my daily perusing. Needless to say, I was smitten at first sight. Jumpsuit, oh jumpsuit, you shall be mine! I adore the slight 70's twist on my favourite season of the year, yet they still managed to keep the usual floral, flouncy patterns we know and love. My little picks are those light and airy lace shorts ($79.95), that peachy, cropped blazer ($109.95) - the perfect addition to a spring night's dinner outing, and the creamy white, fabulously traffic stopping crochet dress ($149). Hopefully this collection is a taste of what is to come for Australian high street this spring, if so, heaven help my wallet!

THE CHALLENGE.

I hereby challenge myself to post a little something every day for a week, to see if I can make this blog thing stick! If, after that week, I feel the desperate compulsion to continue, then heaven help anyone else reading this!

I hope you enjoy what I enjoy, let us have much sillyness together.

Jazzy.
